Thoughtful Thursdays: A Glass Bottle Surplus

21 Mar

In our ever commercializing world, with the loom of ‘global climate change’ over our heads, sometimes we need to be ‘thoughtful’ and think about all the things we can do to make less of an impact on beautiful mother nature.  So…drum roll please….Thursdays will, from here on out, be deemed ‘Thoughtful Thursdays’.  Wedding ideas that incorporate REUSE.  So not only are ‘Thoughtful Thursdays’ for ways to keep our environment a bit cleaner, but you’ll also be saving some much needed cash money.

Today, we’ll start with glass bottles.  Let’s all just be honest and admit how many empty bottles of wine or beer that we can come up with in a VERY short time period.  Don’t even try to deny it.  All this wedding planning has got you in stress mode and at the end of the day….or the middle…or the beginning {you know this is the favorite}, you’re looking to unwind with a bottle of something tasty -or- dare we say, soothing  It’s all good.  We all get there at some point. Whatever that bottle may be, you can single handedly help save the environment (sort of) and money.  Yay.  If for some reason you don’t think you could possibly create a surplus of glass bottles all on your lonesome, invite your friends over for a Sunday Funday.  After they are past their prime, sweet talk them into de-labeling all those bottles, obviously the peskiest part of the entire process.  And…if for some reason you have a serious problem with being a lush, fear not.  Glass bottles from pasta sauces, olives, pickles can be a great use as well.

So with a little Drinking. Collecting. Paint. and Fun.  You can achieve a very cost efficient centerpiece along with reusing a lot of product that would otherwise end up in the landfill.  We love the idea of all these projects.  You just need some to think creative and outside the box.  Besides…isn’t it refreshing to have something new at your wedding?  Those large, over the top, and expensive floral centerpieces are ‘SO LAST YEAR’.  Well sort of…here at Brown Co. Weddings, we prefer the simple with a big wow factor for the budget conscious couple.  Stop.  Collaborate. PAINT!
